The U.S. military assisted Israel "in air, land and sea" with intercepting the many missiles fired by Iran in response to IDF strikes, the Wall Street Journal reported. U.S. officials told the newspaper that before Iran's response began, fighter jets, naval destroyers and ground-based air defense systems were positioned in the region to help Israel repel any attack. The officials noted that the Pentagon has not yet assessed how many missiles the U.S. military intercepted.
