Ahead of the vote to remove MK Yuli Edelstein from his position as chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee amid the military draft exemption law crisis, MK Avichai Buaron (Likud) announced his candidacy for the position. Buaron, who entered the Knesset under the Norwegian Law, wrote that "as someone whose feet have been deeply planted in the world of Torah all his life, and whose family members, friends and neighbors serve hundreds of days in reserves in various sectors, as a member of the religious-Zionist public and a resident of Benjamin, I am fully committed to resolving the draft crisis - reaching a true and balanced solution on this issue is vital for us."
