The Shin Bet and IDF eliminated Hamas terrorists who murdered civilian Haim Kerman in Jerusalem in 1998 and killed Staff Sergeant Ehud (Udi) Tal at the Dotan DCO in 1996 in a joint operation. This was stated in a joint statement from both organizations. The eliminated terrorists, Riad Asila, Bassam Abu Snina and Mahmoud Saria, were deported to the Gaza Strip as part of the "Shalit deal" and were operating from there to carry out additional attacks in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
