Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow received messages from Israel stating it is not seeking military confrontation and wants to reach a diplomatic settlement regarding the nuclear crisis with Iran. Putin referred to his conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, indicating that Israel wanted to prevent miscalculation by Iran. At the "Russia - Central Asia" summit meeting, Putin noted that there are "trust relations" between Moscow and Jerusalem, and that Israel asked to convey reassuring messages to the Iranians that it is interested in continuing the discussion and reducing tensions, without being dragged into confrontation.
