Amid harsh international criticism and claims of "starvation" in the Gaza Strip, an examination conducted by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) found that contrary to UN data, which states that only 3,553 aid trucks have entered Gaza since May, "in practice, Israel has allowed the entry of nearly 9,200 trucks." This was reported by COGAT, which emphasized that "this is a gap of nearly 6,000 trucks, 2.5 times the amount of aid that the UN claims has actually entered. The fact that the UN presents only part of the aid that was actually transferred misleads the international community and creates a false picture, which directly affects media reports worldwide and the position of decision-makers in the international arena regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza."
