The settler (17) who was wounded by gunfire in Benjamin was shot by a Border Police reservist, after masked Jews threw stones at vehicles stuck in traffic near Beit El. The officer felt his life and the lives of road users were in danger, and initially fired into the air to neutralize the threat. The suspects began throwing stones and rocks in his direction, endangering his life, and in response he fired at one of the suspects, who was wounded.
