Attorney General will not appear for dismissal hearing: 'Fundamentally flawed process'

|
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara has once again stated that she does not intend to appear for a pre-dismissal hearing before the ministerial committee to which she was summoned. In a letter sent to the committee members, she wrote: "An invitation to an additional hearing 'beyond the letter of the law' cannot turn a fundamentally flawed process into a legal one." Baharav-Miara added: "A situation where from now on the government can terminate the tenure of an Attorney General without oversight, based on irrelevant and heaven forbid corrupt considerations, including improper influence on ongoing criminal proceedings, constitutes a severe blow to the rule of law."
