Former Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh spoke at a demonstration in Habima Square in Tel Aviv, saying that "Instead of leveraging battlefield achievements into strategic gains, the political leadership clings to past failures that erode them. It continues to act against Israeli interests and national security needs. Correction of fundamental failures cannot be realized until their roots are exposed and understood. A state commission of inquiry is the only way to ensure the process is not contaminated by some of those responsible for the failure, who are trembling in fear of the truth about them being revealed, and therefore it is the only way to enable correction of the failures that led to October 7."
