At least three cargo ships were hit by fire in the Strait of Hormuz area since the morning hours. This was reported by Reuters news agency, based on security sources and reports from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). It was noted that the command bridge of a ship sailing under the Liberian flag was damaged; and two additional ships - sailing under Liberian and Panamanian flags - were not hit. According to the report, the Iranians did not transmit warning messages over the radio before the fire.
