Government expected to cut half a billion shekels from northern rehabilitation budget

|
As part of planned cuts to the state budget, the government is expected to reduce the rehabilitation funds for border communities along the Lebanon frontier by half a billion shekels, ynet has learned. Among other things, the government will not implement the multi-year decisions it promised for northern communities - such as rehabilitation and development of the education system - but will instead limit them to just one year at this stage. The government initially committed 12 billion shekels for border communities but did not pass detailed government decisions to allocate all the funds, and is now expected to cut hundreds of millions from them.
