Noel Curran, Director General of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), sent a letter to the Chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee, Member of Knesset Hanoch Milwidsky, warning of the significant implications of the bill currently being discussed in the committee, which seeks to subordinate the fixed budget of the Kan public broadcaster to government decision. The EBU Director General wrote that the organization is closely following the committee's discussions: "We reiterate the importance of maintaining the institutional and financial guarantees that support an independent and reliable public broadcaster, serving all citizens in a democratic society."
