The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated Nasser Musa, a "central" terrorist in the Rafah Brigade who served as the head of Hamas's military control department, in the Khan Younis area on August 9. According to the IDF spokesperson, Musa was responsible for the fitness and training of terrorists in the brigade who planned and carried out terror attacks against IDF forces and Israeli civilians during the war. Musa was a close associate of Mohammed Shabana, the commander of the Rafah Brigade who was eliminated in May, and additionally served in many roles in the brigade, including as military intelligence officer and as head of the observation array.
