Defense Minister Israel Katz has decided to appoint Lieutenant Colonel Nir Weingold as the financial advisor to the IDF Chief of Staff and head of the budget department at the Ministry of Defense. The decision was made in coordination with the IDF Chief of Staff and the ministry's director general. Weingold will be promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and will replace Brigadier General Gil Pinchas, who will conclude his role after approximately four and a half years. For the past 20 years, Weingold has held positions in planning, procurement, development and force building in the defense establishment. Currently, he serves as the head of the planning department in the financial advisory unit and budget division at the Ministry of Defense.
