Memorial Day for Israel's fallen soldiers and victims of hostile acts will officially begin at 8:00 PM with a one-minute siren, followed by the lighting of the memorial flame by President Isaac Herzog. The torch for lighting the flame will be presented to the President by Zohar Hoffman, widow of Lt. Col. (res.) Yitzhar Hoffman who fell in battle in Gaza on January 31, 2024. Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir are also participating in the ceremony.
