Senior American officials who spoke with Reuters said that the US has "military options to ensure that Iranian nuclear sites remain inaccessible." According to them, "the talks between Iran and the US were productive, but either we will reach a deal or we won't. The US demands that Iran issue a public statement that Tehran will stop firing at ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and that all routes are open for passage." They also noted that Iran told US officials that the attacks on ships in Hormuz were carried out by a "rogue element" in the system. According to them, there will be no deal with Iran "if we don't get the nuclear dust."
