Actress Shoshik Shani dies at 91

|
Actress and singer Shoshik Shani, widow of singer Arik Lavia, has died at the age of 91. She is survived by two daughters, Noa and Yael, and grandchildren. Shani was born Shoshana Shprung in Tel Aviv, and began performing on stage in her childhood, studying acting at the school founded by Yossi and Yemima Milo at the Cameri Theater. "I was on stage already in elementary school," she said in an interview with Ynet in 2023. "I organized drama clubs there, and from a very young age I had the desire to be an actress. My mother also nurtured that because she herself was a frustrated actress who fled from the Nazis in Germany. Before that she was in a youth theater, and when she came to Israel she obviously didn't know the language."
