Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar told ministers during a political-security Cabinet discussion that he may demand the reinstatement of administrative detention orders in the West Bank if he cannot address violent attacks by Jewish extremists against Palestinians through other means. Defense Minister Israel Katz, shortly after taking office two years ago, ordered the cessation of administrative detention orders against Jews. During the same discussion, the Shin Bet chief clashed with Minister Orit Strock.
