An IDF soldier mistakenly identified Sgt. 1st Class Guy Loder, who fell last night in southern Lebanon, as a terrorist and opened fire at him and another soldier. The incident occurred during an operation to arrest a wanted individual. Sgt. 1st Class Loder was killed and the other soldier was seriously wounded. The operation was carried out in a village where most residents are not identified with Hezbollah, so the force conducted an arrest rather than blowing up the house upon entry as is done in other villages. Sgt. 1st Class Loder's force was operating in parallel nearby.
