Staff Sergeant Shoham Menachem, 21, from Moshav Yardena, Sergeant Shlomo Yakir Shrem, 20, from Efrat, and Sergeant Yuli Factor, 19, from Rishon LeZion, armored corps fighters from Battalion 52 of the 'Iron Tracks' Brigade (401), fell in battle in northern Gaza Strip, the IDF spokesperson permitted for publication. They were killed in a tank explosion in Jabaliya, likely from anti-tank fire, and an officer from the battalion was severely wounded in the incident. He was evacuated for medical treatment at a hospital. Additional possibilities regarding the circumstances of the explosion are under investigation.
