The French Foreign Ministry stated that "France welcomes President Trump's announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. This declaration must lead to a complete cessation of hostilities, which France calls on all parties to respect." The ministry further stated that "France reiterates that only a diplomatic solution can provide a lasting response to the security challenges posed by Iran's nuclear program. Iran must not possess nuclear weapons. In this context, France calls on Iran to immediately enter negotiations that will lead to an agreement addressing all concerns related to its nuclear and ballistic missile programs and its destabilizing activities."
