|
Chile has raised its tsunami warning to the highest level following a powerful 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Kamchatka in eastern Russia overnight. Meanwhile, tsunami warnings have been canceled for Canada's west coast, parts of Alaska and several islands in the region. The warning was also canceled for American Samoa, and French Polynesia authorities said expected tsunami waves would be "smaller" than initially feared.
