Police arrested a 34-year-old Kiryat Ata resident on suspicion of impersonating a Shin Bet employee whose family was killed on October 7 and conducting a romantic relationship with a woman under false pretenses. The investigation began following a complaint filed by a northern Israel resident, who claimed she had been in a romantic relationship in recent months with a man and discovered, according to the suspicion, that he was an imposter. Additionally, as part of the relationship, she transferred thousands of shekels to her partner. The investigation revealed that the suspect never served in any security agency and lives with his family in the Kiryot. His arrest was extended until September 27, and he is suspected of offenses including impersonation, obtaining something by deception and sex offenses.
