The European Commission has circulated an internal document to EU member states presenting a series of possible measures to tighten restrictions on imports from Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. The document, distributed on Wednesday and not yet constituting an official legislative proposal, will be presented for discussion among ambassadors on Friday and then at a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Monday. According to diplomatic sources, more than 20 countries already requested in June that the Commission present options for restricting trade with the settlements.
