MK Efrat Reiten has appealed to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara requesting a "comprehensive investigation" into the responsibility of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for "endangering the lives of hostages" while they were held by Hamas militants. In her appeal, Reiten cited testimonies from former captives who said they suffered severe abuse following "irresponsible statements" by the minister, and due to a ynet report that the Shin Bet had previously warned Ben Gvir and Netanyahu that the minister's declarations were leading to increased abuse of the hostages.
