US: Two killed in skydiving accident in California

|
Two skydivers were killed in a free-fall skydiving accident in the city of Lake Elsinore in Southern California. Skydive Elsinore reported that the two, licensed and described as experienced skydivers, collided near the end of the jump and their parachutes became entangled with each other. The company noted that eyewitnesses said the free-fall phase went without incident and that the two opened their parachutes at the planned altitude. According to testimonies published on NBC, 'As the two were preparing to land they collided about 150 feet above the ground.' They were taken in critical condition to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
