Manchester City appeals conviction in financial rules case

|
Manchester City announced it has filed a formal appeal against the independent commission's decision to convict the club of 114 out of 115 charges in the case of violating the league's financial regulations during the period from the 2009-2010 season to the 2017-2018 season. The club's statement read: "The club's firm position is that the opinion contains, in numerous respects, clear material errors - in law, in principle and in fact - and is therefore incorrect. The club is innocent of the charges brought against it by the Premier League."
