The IDF Spokesperson cleared for publication that Res. Staff Sgt. Lidor Porat, 31, from Ashdod, fell in southern Lebanon. Staff Sgt. Porat, a fighter in the 7106 Battalion of the 769 Territorial Brigade, was killed after an IDF engineering vehicle hit a Hezbollah explosive device—and fighters who were near it were injured. It was also reported that in the incident, one fighter was seriously wounded, four were moderately wounded and four were lightly wounded. The fighters were evacuated for medical treatment at the hospital and their families were notified.
