The Ministry of Health reported a rabid jackal near Kibbutz Shluhot in the Emek HaMayanot Regional Council. One person who was exposed to the jackal was referred for preventative treatment against rabies. "Anyone who came into contact or whose pets came into contact with the infected animal or a stray animal in the area between August 8 and August 22 inclusive should urgently contact the Health Bureau in Afula or the Health Bureau closest to their place of residence," officials stated.
