Following the hostage families' strike on Sunday, the Technion in Haifa announced that it will allow staff members to be absent from work and participate in the day of protest. "Out of solidarity with the terrible suffering of the hostages and to strengthen their families and friends in their difficult time, members of the Technion administration plan to stop their activities and participate in protest events," the institution stated. Additionally, the University of Haifa announced that it will also join the protest. University President Prof. Gur Alroey said: "Our position is unequivocal: we must not rest until all hostages return home."
