For 'urgent defense procurement': Government to approve NIS 2.6 billion cut on Sunday

|
The government will be asked to approve a second budget cut within four days on Sunday, 'for urgent defense procurement.' This time the cut will be larger than the one billion shekels in the cut for the 12 Apache helicopters, and will amount to 2.6 billion shekels. Also, unlike the previous cut, which was taken mostly from the five-year plan for Arab society, this time it is a 'flat' cut from all government ministries. The cut will be uniform at about 5% of the development and procurement budget of each government ministry. However, the recommendation of senior professional officials in the Finance Ministry to cut the required amount from coalition funds was not accepted.
