Tel Sheva Council Head Omar Zaal Alassam, suspected of bribery, bid rigging, fraud and fictitious employment, was released from custody after 10 days. The Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court granted the request by Lahav 433 investigators to stay the release in order to allow them to file an appeal against the decision. The council head's brother, who was arrested with him, was also released, while the council treasurer remains in custody. His attorney Maor Segev stated that "after reviewing all the investigation materials, the bribery charge collapsed, disappeared, as did the election integrity offense, which does not exist."
