Treasury and Police Work to Establish 'Bypass Channel' Around Ben-Gvir After He Froze Funds to Organization

|
Senior officials at the Finance Ministry are holding discussions with police officials in an attempt to establish a 'bypass channel' around National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, after he announced the freezing of hundreds of millions of shekels from the police budget. This was reported to Ynet. The plan being formulated is intended to enable the transfer of funds directly to the organization, not through the National Security Ministry. Sources at the Finance Ministry familiar with the process clarified that 'this is money that the State of Israel allocated to the police. We cannot allow the Israel Police to become hostage to the minister.'
