Herzog: 'A nation that cherishes life must not live by sword alone - there must be a political purpose'

|
President Isaac Herzog spoke at the state memorial ceremony for former presidents and prime ministers, where he stated that "the diplomatic-advocacy front is an eighth front that must not be abandoned. We must not neglect our connections with the world, we must not transition to a state of a nation that dwells alone." Regarding the Abraham Accords, Herzog said that "it is vital to develop them, they have changed the entire region. Shimon Peres and Moshe Sharett never stopped thinking about the day after. They believed that every military action must have a political purpose and that war is always a means to achieve peace. A nation that cherishes life must not live exclusively by its sword."
