The IDF Spokesperson announced that after extensive research, it was revealed that 170 Gazans killed during the war who were presented as journalists and media personnel actually served as terrorists for terror organizations in the Strip, primarily Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The IDF said it published verified evidence, including visuals and documents produced by the terror organizations, some found in the field, proving their organizational affiliation and the roles they held within the terror organizations. 118 of the journalists were active in Hamas, 49 operated in PIJ, one terrorist in Lords of Anarchy and two terrorists in Resistance Committees. 17 of the journalists infiltrated Israeli territory on October 7.
