Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened an earlier meeting of the reduced cabinet to discuss developments in the contacts for a hostage deal. Defense Minister Israel Katz and Ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir participated in the discussion. Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri were absent from the meeting.
