Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 4-1 in the derby as part of the fourth round of the Premier League. Dor Peretz put the Yellows ahead in the 18th minute, against the run of play, but Stav Turiel equalized in the 33rd minute with a spectacular goal. Osher Davida restored Maccabi's lead just three minutes later, and in the 88th minute Hisham Layous scored a third goal. Six minutes later, Elad Madmon scored another goal for the Yellow team. Turiel was sent off in first-half stoppage time, and during the match the derby was also halted for several minutes following the lighting of flares in the stands.
