The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, reported—citing “senior sources”—that Egypt considers its latest proposal in the ongoing cease-fire negotiations regarding Gaza to be “the last opportunity to end the war.”
According to the report, despite U.S. support for the proposal, Israel continues to reject it, insisting that it “has not completed its operations in the Strip.” However, the article notes that “if Israel agrees to return to a truce, it is expected to take effect by Saturday morning.”
