ZAKA emergency service co-founder and chairman Yehuda Meshi Zahav announced on Friday he was forfeiting the Israel Prize life achievement award he received last month after allegations of sexual assault and rape have surfaced against him.
In a letter sent by Meshi Zahav to ZAKA volunteers, he also said that he has suspended his membership in the organization.
"I draw the obvious conclusions from this great storm, even when these allegations are unfounded," he wrote.
