Israeli sentenced to two years in French jail for smuggling Khat

A 20-year-old Israeli was sentenced to two years in jail and a fine of 14,000 Euros for attempting to smuggle 40 Kg. of Khat into France.
The foreign ministry warns Israelis to refuse offers to transport the plant to Europe where it is considered a controlled substance.
According to officials thus far over 100 Israelis were implicated in attempts to transport Khat to Europe.
