European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen criticized U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to impose 30% tariffs on European Union goods. She stated that "Imposing tariffs at such a rate will disrupt vital supply chains. Only a few economies in the world adhere to our standard for fair trade." She added: "The European Union has always preferred a diplomatic solution with the U.S., but we will take all necessary measures to protect our interests."
