Actor David Schwimmer has urged X owner Elon Musk to ban Kanye West from the platform over his continued antisemitic remarks, warning that the rapper’s hate speech fuels real-world violence.
In a post to his eight million followers on Saturday, Schwimmer shared a photo of West with the caption "I am a Nazi" alongside several of West’s antisemitic statements, including "I love Hitler" and "Jews hate white people and exploit Black people."
"I don’t like or trust Jews, and I’m writing this while completely sober," the rapper wrote. "I’m a racist, there’s a reason stereotypes exist, and they’re all true... You can make money from Jews, but they’ll always steal it back from you and then invite you over for Friday dinner... Jews hate white people and exploit Black people."
The Friends star condemned West’s rhetoric and criticized Musk for allowing him to retain his platform of 32.7 million followers—twice the global Jewish population. "This is so 2022," Schwimmer wrote. "We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate-filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone. Mr. Musk, Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews. Silence is complicity."

West, who has made repeated antisemitic statements in recent years, reignited controversy last week after returning to X and posting inflammatory messages such as "I am a Nazi" and "I don’t like or trust Jews." Despite past backlash that cost him lucrative deals with Adidas and Balenciaga, the rapper remains active in music and was recently nominated for a Grammy.
The 47-year-old managed to grab headlines at last week's ceremony where he arrived with his wife, Bianca Censori, dressed in a see-through dress on the red carpet.
In a separate interview last week, West claimed he had been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and was instead autistic. "My wife took me to get tested," he said. "She told me, ‘Something about your personality doesn’t seem like bipolar.’ We went to a doctor and found out I’m autistic." West added that he stopped taking his prescribed medications following the new diagnosis, arguing that treatment had stifled his creativity.
West also revealed that he was invited to Donald Trump’s 2017 presidential inauguration but refused to attend after being asked to apologize for his antisemitic remarks. "When people tell you not to do something, you cling to it, and that’s my problem," he admitted. "I’ll do it in the opposite way just because I’m the one who decides."
While Schwimmer’s post has garnered over 250,000 likes, neither Musk nor X has publicly responded to calls for West’s removal from the platform.
