In Gaza, Israel using facial recognition technology in search of hostages, report

Unnamed Israeli officials confirmed to the New York Times that Israel was using facial recognition technology to identify Israeli captives in Gaza amid crowds. The costly experimental use of the technology catalogues the faces of unaware Palestinians without their consent. According to the report, some Gazan's were misidentified as wanted Hamas terrorists, by the system.
