Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, alongside National Unity Party head Benny Gantz, and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made a joint statement late Wednesday announcing the establishment of an emergency government following Hamas’ surprise attack.
“The people of Israel are united, and today, its government is united. We’ll work together shoulder to shoulder for Israel’s citizens,” Netanyahu said.
Defense Minister Gallant described the horrible scenes that took place in Israel’s south last week, saying “We’ve begun our offensive. We’ll wipe this entity called Hamas, ISIS, from the face of the earth. We will triumph.”
Gantz echoed Gallant and Netanyahu’s words, saying Israel will win the war against Hamas decisively. “At this time, we are enlisting to work together, we’re all Israel’s soldiers. This isn’t the time for difficult questions, but for clear answers on the battlefield. If needed, other entities will experience our strength.”
