Gantz urges Zini to decline appointment: 'If Shin Bet sinks into political mud, we're all at risk'

|
National Unity Party chairman Benny Gantz called on General David Zini, who was selected by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to head the Shin Bet, to decline the appointment. He said that "General Zini is correct in his assessment of the situation. We are in an eternal war against Hamas and Iran." According to Gantz, "if we are in an eternal war, it's clear that the most urgent matter is returning all hostages in a complete deal." Gantz added that the appointment is "sabotage to the security system" and emphasized: "If the Shin Bet sinks into political mud, we're all at risk."
