The Trump administration has granted federal licenses for the first time to over 900 medical cannabis stores in seven U.S. states, including Florida and Texas. The U.S. Justice Department announced this as part of a reform promoted in April to ease restrictions on medical marijuana. Until now, the stores operated under state licenses only, without federal recognition. U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche said the move is designed to expand access to chronic pain treatment but clarified that authorities will continue to act against illegal marijuana trafficking. The change does not permit the sale of cannabis for recreational purposes, which remains prohibited at the federal level.
