Commenting on the possibility of Israel annexing territory within the West Bank by July 1, a senior U.S. official said Thursday that "we’re supportive of their efforts. They’ve got a coalition government that has various strands. And I think it’s going to take them a while to come together with what they’re going to do."
Commenting on the purpose of U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit Wednesday, the official said "I do think that we should dispel the notion that we flew halfway around the world to talk about annexation. That’s been reported that we – incorrectly."
