PM decides synagogues, mosques, to reopen as of Wednesday

|Updated:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in consultation with Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, Interior Minister Aryeh Deri, and the head of the National Security Council Meir Ben-Shabbat have decided on the reopening of houses of worship as of Wednesday under certain health restrictions.
The number of worshippers will be limited to 50 and social distancing will be required and people will be required to wear facial masks.
Health officials hoped to postpone the reopening until after the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, so as to avoid people congregating in mosques but they were overruled.
