The popular Metzitzim beach in north Tel Aviv has been closed on the recommendation of the Health Ministry due to abnormal levels of pollution.
Tel Aviv Municipality said: "Due to unusual results in recent days at Metzitzim beach and following a decision by the Ministry of Health, the beach will be closed to bathers until further notice."
Signs will be posted at the beach announcing the ban and inspectors will warn visitors in person.
