Saudi-based television network Al Arabiya reported Friday evening that Egypt has offered Israel and the Palestinians a complete ceasefire until the end of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr on Sunday evening.
The proposal will allow Egypt to bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and evacuate the wounded for treatment on its territory.
According to the report, Egypt is still waiting for Israel's response, and at the same time, has asked Western countries to apply pressure on the Jewish state to accept the offer.
