President Isaac Herzog eulogized journalist Dan Margalit who passed away after a long battle with illness and revealed that he spoke with him a few days ago. On his X account, he wrote that "In the annals of Israeli media, Dan Margalit will hold a place of honor. Beyond his great love for journalism, Dan always stood out as an intellectual seeking to challenge all subjects of his coverage." Herzog added: "A few days ago I called to say goodbye to him. He was moved to tears when I reminded him that his book 'Reporter from the White House' pointed to the missed opportunity to prevent the Yom Kippur War. In our conversations, he always made sure to emphasize that he was first and foremost an Israeli patriot."
